The cards of deck was used for various education purposes fro the moment of their emergence in Europe. The cards were used in for instructing lessons of geography and history, law and logic, grammer and Latin, astronomy, arts and for mathematics calculations and for military tactics.

In the year 1507, One of the bachelor of theology in Krakow, named as Thomas Murner, published a book “Chartiludium logicae”, which was providing the cards training used by the monk for teaching logic. Murner was highly successful in didactics, due to which he was even accused for witchcraft, but his defence provided some evidence of harmlessness of the tactics used by Franciscan.

Earlier Murner applied the same method for teaching the code of Justinian. In the year 1502, he wrote to Geiler Kaisersberg that his teaching contribution of the code was very successfull and significant. He wrote that ” in my intention to generate the love of reading I hope to change stupid and boring game by the exciting and fascinating one”, and it would be extremely gratifying if I get success in replacing bad and boring to good and exciting. Probably the methodology developed by Murner seemed to be very effective for the European teachers if they used it for the monarchs education.
